Born and raised in the musical city of Manchester, Chris J Frater gained a huge part of his 20 years DJ experience starting out in the humble bars of the city leading to him holding down a 15 year residency at Manchester’s leading House Venue VENUS. It was Venus where Chris steadily built a solid following and respect amongst the clubbers far and wide and fellow DJs from around the world.

Chris is a regular feature for global brand Hed Kandi and regularly headlines Fashion events, Fashion shows and Celebrity parties for the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Hilton Hotels, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Manchester Fashion week, as well as djing for the Manchester United Showcase Tour around the world.

Radio has always been a big passion for Chris leading to him running 2 radio shows on FM stations spanning over a six-year period. He has done numerous guest mixes and featured on Radio stations including BBC Radio One and Ministry of Sound Radio. Chris has played around the globe in South Africa, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Georgia and all across Europe including Ibiza and has graced some of the finest clubs alongside DJs such as Roger Sanchez, MYNC, Nicky Romero, MK, Kim Fai, The Freemasons and many more.

Chris has teamed up with best friend Ryan Stent to create the production duo RELOAD. Their production over the last 8 years has gone from strength-to-strength with tracks featuring on Radio 1’s Playlist.  With a string of successful releases under ‘Frater&Stent’ and now ‘RELOAD on some of the world’s biggest labels, the boys’ remix work features on various Hed Kandi compilations over the last few years, as well as Cr2, Milk & Sugar, WhoreHouse and Pacha recordings.
