Q: Can I ensure my donation goes to my chosen country or project?
A: Yes we can ensure your donation goes to your desired cause. We have a range of ‘fund pots’ for each cause available to you and can only therefore be accessed for the right cause donated. For example;
You £10 > Caffra funds > Philippines £10.
Once significant work has been completed, we will always put an update on our website and our social media pages.
Q: Can I donate other items rather than money?
A: Yes, you can donate other items rather than money. However, we only allow for specific causes due to current shipments set up.
At the moment we have a regular shipment to the Philippines. Therefore, if you would like to donate items to the Philippines, then we can put them into our shipment where cost is covered. We are then responsible for the shipment from our Operations Centre to the Philippines. We are not responsible for the items to be delivered to our Operations Centre, which is therefore down to the donatee.
Q: Why do people often choose a regular donation rather than a one-off donation?
A: Any form of donation means a great deal and is always put to best use. However, long-term donations allow us to plan for the future and allow money to be available when it’s most needed. They give us the security and support to react to situations as they arise and the income to carry on with our work whether issues are in the media or not.
Q: Is making a credit/debit card donation online safe?
A: Making a donation on our website www.caffra.org is completely safe. All information you can give is kept secure and protected. Caffra is fully committed to protecting the security of your data and neither out staff or volunteers have access to your card details.
Q:How do you make sure your money isn’t wasted by corruption?
A: When funding a cause, our money goes directly to our local partners, who go through a detailed filtering process over a period of time where they are evaluated through a robust system.
All of our partners are the people working on the ground, not the governments. That way we can still work and make a difference, but there is no corruption within our organisation.
If and when we are alerted about any misuse funds, which is extremely rare, we are sure to investigate immediately putting on hold the funds. Assessments are then carried out to make sure that there is zero corruption.
Q: How do you choose what organisations to support?
Caffra works to help those in need and to put structures in place preventing the risks people face each day. New partners all go through our filtering process where they give us the information we require to investigate. If we see great cause and positive reasons then we assess their goals and capacity to see whether we can work together with them.
